Interface Overview

Use this interface to create a listing in the Community Listings system.

Interface Breakdown

Step 1

Create an affiliation / Listing Category.

Choose whether the post is affiliated with a group or not.

Assign a category.

Assign a sub-category



Sub-categories will vary depending on the category you select.

Select 'Next'

Step 2

Add a listing title and details.

Editing Tips


This interface allows you to use markdown to edit your posts. Markdown is a text-to-HTML conversion tool for web writers. Markdown allows you to write using an easy-to-read, easy-to-write plain text format, then convert it to structurally valid XHTML (or HTML).

Select 'Preview' to view your listing description as it will be displayed to people.

You can also select 'Style Guide' to find some quick reference materials concerning Markdown syntax.

When satisfied, select 'Next'.

Step 3

(Optional) Add Attachment(s)

Click the 'Attach File' button to access the Upload File interface and upload a file.

Once you've uploaded the files you would like to include select the 'Next' button.

When satisfied, select 'Next'.

Step 4

Add Location Information

Location information will be used to expose your listing to folks near you. Assign an existing venue or address for an exact location, or add only the minimum city, state, and zip to have more general location information displayed.



Select the 'Find Existing' button to access the Venue Search interface and search for existing venues.

When satisfied, select 'Next'.

Step 5

Enter Your Contact Information

Select 'Finish' when done to create your listing.
