Special Case - Incomplete Game
What To Do In The Case of an Incomplete Game
Q: What do you do in the case of a rain-out or any other situation in which a game will not end as intended?
Simple; just end the game at that moment and pitches will be recorded in the C2C database.
Let's explore a couple of scenarios that will help you understand the correct way to do just that.
Scenario 1 : Game Ends at the Start of an Inning
In this scenario, an inning just started and the game was ended before either team's pitcher threw a pitch.
In this case, all users will submit zero (0) pitches and end both the inning and game. Pitch Limit will not record the new inning, but all previous innings and pitches will be recorded.
Steps to Take:
At the time of the official ruling of the game suspension or postponement...
- The OPCR and PCR users will submit as if counts were recorded for the inning.
- The OPCR user will then be brought back to the previous inning's "Inning Complete" screen where he/she will then select the "Game Over" button the end the competition.
Scenario 2 : Game Ends in the Middle of an Inning
In this scenario, an inning was in progress when the game ended.
In this case, all users (OPCR and PCR) will treat the situation as if the inning and game had ended.
Steps to Take:
At the time of the official ruling of the game suspension or postponement...
- The OPCR and PCR users will submit the inning's pitch counts
- The OPCR user will Verify that the counts are correct and submit from the OPCR:Verify Counts screen
- The OPCR user will then select the "Game Over" button from the OPCR: Inning Complete screen to end the competition
By ending the competition within the PitchLimit application, the OPCR user is officially submitting the game's pitch count data to the C2C database.
